Miskelly in the Community

The Friends of Children’s Hospital Miracle Home

Friends of Children’s Hospital is a nonprofit organization created to benefit Batson Children's Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The Friends of Children’s Hospital MiracleHome is a major undertaking by the committee and volunteers who construct the home and suppliers who donate materials. One lucky ticket-holder will win the home. Six thousand tickets are sold for $100 each and all proceeds go to the Children’s Hospital. This year’s home in Ridgeland is filled with beautiful furniture and accessories from Miskelly. Please stop by and tour the home Saturdays and Sundays through December 6. Operation Sweet Dreams

Miskelly teamed up with Tempur-Pedic and WJTV through Operation Sweet Dreams to donate 126 mattresses to six area nonprofit organizations. The mattresses were distributed to the Methodist Children’s Home - Garrison House, Mercy House Teen Challenge, CJ Stewart Foundation, Sunnybrook Children’s Home, Southern Christian Services, and Oak Arbor Recovery Center. This is the second year for Operation Sweet Dreams.

Caring Carousel

Miskelly Furniture is a faith-based company that believes in building the foundation of the community. One way Miskelly does this is through The Caring Carousel, located in Miskelly's flagship store. The Caring Carousel:

  • Benefits children throughout the state of MS
  • Draws people from all over the area who want to help the selected charity.
  • Suggests donation of $1 per ride is asked, but no child is turned away who wants to ride.
  • Each year a check for the funds collected from donations, plus additional funding from Miskelly’s, is presented to the specific charity.
  • Has previously donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House.

Season of Giving

Miskelly Furniture feels very strongly about giving back to the community. Several years ago we recognized that there are people in our local area in need. We then began our Season of Giving promotion in which people submit nominations for individuals or families. Miskelly’s, in partnership with WLBT, select recipients to receive furniture and Miskelly’s delivers it to them before Christmas.
